21 Jump Street (2012)

This is a solid movie. Former classmates Morton Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Greg Jenko (Channing Tatum) meet up again at police academy seven years after high school. While Greg was popular in school and Morton was the picked on nerd, they are now working as partners. They feel disappointed when their first job is park patrol, but then they are given an assignment to go back to high school to find out who is providing a dangerous drug to the students. Due to a mix up in their files, Greg is assigned to work with the chemistry students and Morton joins with the eco-friendly group who are selling the drugs.

Jonah Hill contributed to the film's script. It was shot in and around the city of New Orleans, Louisiana. The film is loosely based on the crime drama TV series that aired on the Fox Network for five seasons from 1987 to 1991. The show helped Johnny Depp gain national recognition as a teen idol.
