Sabrina (1954)

This is a solid movie. Sabrina (Audrey Hepburn) is the daughter of a chauffeur and she has a crush on a wealthy man named David (William Holden), but he doesn’t seem to notice her. She visits Paris for a culinary school and after graduation she comes back home. David starts to pay close attention to her and invites her to a dance party, even though he is expected to be married in ten days. His brother Linus (Humphrey Bogart) starts vying for her company also. Sabrina must decide which of the brothers she truly wants to be with.

The film was adapted from the Broadway play Sabrina Fair. During production Hepburn and Holden entered into a brief love affair. The film won an Academy Award for Best Costume Design. In 1995, a remake was produced, starring Harrison Ford and Greg Kinnear. Sabrina served as the inspiration for the Hindi movie Yeh Dillagi.
