Winter Prey

This is an okay book written by John Sandford. It is winter in the dark Wisconsin woods when a family of three is brutally mutilated and thrown in the ashes of their fire-consumed home. The local sheriff asks Lucas Davenport, who owns a nearby cabin, to help with the investigation. A Catholic priest is considered a person of interest because he was seen driving on the road a few minutes after the fire started. However, he is not considered a suspect because there is no evidence against him and he is known as a very honest man. This is the fifth novel in the series.
