This is an okay book written by Janet Evanovich. Racing spotter Alexandra “Barney” Barnaby figures her hunky NASCAR driver and sometimes lover Sam Hooker should have grabbed the checkered flag at his latest race. But Sam took second, and Barney smells a cheater on the circuit. A seasoned mechanic, she needs a peek under the hood of the winning car to prove her claim. So she and Sam steal the 18-wheeler carrying the suspect vehicle. But their hot hauler holds an unexpected bit of cargo, too – a dead body.
