Clash of the Titans (2010)

This is a noteworthy movie. In ancient times, the gods led by Zeus (Liam Neeson), Poseidon and Hades betrayed their parents, the Titans, and banished them to the underworld with the help of the Kraken, a sea monster born of Hades. Fisherman Spyros finds a casket floating in the sea containing a still living baby. He and his wife adopt the boy and name him Perseus. Years later, Perseus (Sam Worthington) is fishing with his family and witnesses soldiers destroying a statue of Zeus and subsequently being attacked by the Furies. As the Cult of Hades grows in number, a desperate Cepheus asks Perseus to lead the King's Guard to discover a way to kill the Kraken.

This is a remake of the 1981 British film starring Harry Hamlin and Laurence Olivier. A sequel, Wrath of the Titans, was released on March 30, 2012.
